Book Review: Pride and Prejudice
Since its immediate success in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has remained one of the most popular novels in the English language. Jane Austen called this brilliant work "her own darling child" and its vivacious heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, "as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print." The romantic clash between the opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr. Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilised sparring.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Since its immediate success in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has remained one of the most popular novels in the English language. Jane Austen called this brilliant work “her own darling child” and its vivacious heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, “as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print.” The romantic clash between the opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr. Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilised sparring. And Jane Austen’s radiant wit sparkles as her characters dance a delicate quadrille of flirtation and intrigue, making this book the most superb comedy of manners of Regency England. Mr. Bennet, owner of the Longbourn estate in Hertfordshire, has five daughters, but his property is entailed and can only be passed to a male heir. His wife also lacks an inheritance, so his family faces becoming very poor upon his death. Thus, it is imperative that at least one of the girls marry well to support the others, which is a motivation that drives the plot.

REVIEW BY DANIA: “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”

The OG enemies to lovers, commentary on class divide, audacious men, the women who wanted love and maybe more. Mix all of these together with a pinch of sass and a love hate relationship with Mr. Darcy.. Bake at 360 degrees (180 C) in an oven steaming with tension and there you have it, Pride and Prejudice.

For my 100th post and to also commemorate 1000 followers. I have decided re-created my first ever post! It was a book review of Pride and Prejudice and to be honest, my book reviews have come a long way since then, in which direction only you guys can tell me. Here is a new and renewed review!
And, I also wanted to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey! I received an overwhelmingly positive response on my posts and that has kept me going to post consistently. Thank you to everyone for supporting me in this completely new aspect of social media which I never thought that I would be a part of!

Let’s start off…

My general thoughts on the book-
This book brings back memories from when I had first read it.
It was this god-like thing for me that had a new premise and was one of the few classics that I had read. It had this great underlying theme while also having a direct theme, making it easier for a 10 year old girl like me to understand it. This was one of the reasons that made me choose this book as the first book review that I will ever post.

My thoughts on the writing-
This book had immaculate writing which I was completely enamoured by. It had various elements of writing such as description, action and also the thoughts of the characters and mixed them together into this easily understandable book. I greatly value how well the different elements bode together because as an aspiring writer, I know that it’s hard to do so. Sometimes I focus purely on description and my plot goes to waste. Sometimes I focus purely on the inner thoughts of a person and the entire story seems to be quite boring. So needless to say, Jane Austen had a huge impact on my journey as a writer.
